SELECTING THE RIGHT BALL MOUNT
THE TRAILER SHOULD ALWAYS BE LEVEL
For safe, comfortable towing, the trailer should always/only be set up to tow on a
level ball mount platform
MEASURING FOR THE PROPER BALL MOUNT (drop)
Measure from ground to the top of the hitch.
( here 23" )
Measure from ground to the (inside) top of the trailer coupler, ( here 18" )
IN THIS EXAMPLE:
23" minus 18" = 5" initial drop
SUBTRACT an additional 3" for the height of the HITCH BALL that will be attached to the Ball Mount platform.
5" initial drop and 3" high hitch ball = 8" DROP
IN THIS EXAMPLE: An 8" drop is needed too make the trailer level.
